Guatemala is a country in Central America, located to the south of Mexico. It has coastlines on the Pacific Ocean, Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. The population is around 12 million inhabitants, and the capital is Guatemala City, where a third of the total population resides. The surface area of the country is around 110,000 square kilometres. The Central American country of Guatemala, which borders Mexico, Belice, Honduras and El Salvador is next is the Isthmus of Panama, and has coastlines on the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean.
